🍂 Autumn Nature Hunt in Engage

Yesterday’s Engage session took us outdoors for an autumn nature scavenger hunt, gathering natural materials ready for our next creative activity, making our very own Natural Wind Chimes! 🌿🎐

Armed with checklists, the students explored the local area looking for autumn treasures including pine cones, twigs, leaves and acorns. Along the way, we spent time looking at the different types of trees around us and identifying some of the natural objects we found.

We were particularly on the hunt for Oak trees and acorns, although we discovered that the acorns aren’t quite ready just yet!

There was also a very funny moment when everyone realised that, after Anneliese had taken the group on a hunt to find Oak trees, we had two of them in the car park all along! 😂

We did have much more success finding pine trees, with the students collecting some fantastic pine cones to use in their creations.

It was a lovely opportunity to get outside, explore our surroundings and combine learning about nature with a practical activity. Next up, the materials we collected will be transformed into our Natural Wind Chimes. We can’t wait to see what everyone creates!
