And that’s a wrap for World Book Day 2026! It has been a fantastic day across the school, filled with creativity, curiosity and plenty of opportunities for students to celebrate the joy of reading. Throughout the day, students took part in a range of engaging activities designed to spark imagination, encourage collaboration and highlight how books can inspire learning in so many different ways.
One of the highlights of the day was our World Book Day themed physics challenge. Students worked together to design and build bridges, carefully testing their creations to see how strong and stable they were. The activity encouraged teamwork, problem solving and creative thinking, and it was wonderful to see students enthusiastically experimenting with their ideas, adapting their designs and supporting one another as they tackled the challenge.
Students also had great fun taking part in a creative writing session inspired by Cruella from 101 Dalmatians. Using the well-known story as inspiration, they created their own flip stories, imagining alternative endings and dramatic twists. There were some wonderfully inventive ideas, with plenty of humour along the way, as students imagined all sorts of outcomes for the stolen puppy. The activity encouraged imagination and storytelling skills, and it was fantastic to see students bringing their ideas to life on the page.
Throughout the day, classrooms were buzzing with a wide range of activities designed to promote a love of literature and curiosity for new ideas. From reading and storytelling to creative challenges linked to books, the day showed how stories can connect with many different areas of learning and inspire students in unique ways.
World Book Day is always a special moment in the school calendar, giving everyone the chance to celebrate the power of stories and the importance of reading. It has been a brilliant day filled with creativity, laughter and learning, and it was wonderful to see students so engaged and enthusiastic.
A fantastic day celebrating reading, creativity and learning across the school. 📖❤️
