This week in Maths, students have been exploring practical ways to understand and apply the concepts of more than and less than, bringing mathematical language to life through hands-on activities and real-world learning.

Learners worked on comparing objects and quantities using ideas such as taller and shorter, longer and shorter, and heavier and lighter, before representing these relationships using the mathematical symbols <, > and =. Through practical tasks and group challenges, students developed confidence in recognising and describing comparisons in meaningful contexts.

Students used a range of resources to physically explore measurements and comparisons, helping to bridge the gap between concrete experiences and abstract mathematical symbols. It was fantastic to see learners actively discussing, predicting and justifying their thinking.

Our iPads continue to play an important role in supporting learning, allowing students to demonstrate their understanding in different ways and helping learners thrive when accessing these concepts. Digital tools have given students additional opportunities to record, explore and present their mathematical thinking with confidence.

We have also made a fantastic start to our new Data topic, with a strong focus on experiential learning to spark curiosity and engage students from the very beginning.

There has been a brilliant atmosphere in lessons this week, full of teamwork, discussion and practical exploration. We cannot wait to share more of our delightful data adventures next week! 📈✨
