On Tuesday, we were incredibly lucky to take some of our young people to York St John University for an unforgettable experience! We arrived at 10am and kicked things off with an inspiring introduction to higher education, where students explored the many pathways that can lead to university and discovered the huge range of courses on offer. Our young people were absolutely amazed to learn that there are over 50,000 university courses available across the UK!

Next up was a campus tour led by two fantastic student ambassadors who shared their own journeys to university and gave us a real insight into student life. Along the way, they brought the university’s history to life, showcased the brilliant facilities, and highlighted the wide range of support services available — including the university therapy dog, Blue!

To round off the day, we took part in a lively student life workshop that looked beyond studying and focused on everything else university has to offer. There were plenty of opportunities to ask questions and even design our own society — with Pot Noodle FC Society proving to be a firm favourite!

Our young people were a real credit to Lord Gowthorpe's, and York St John University truly went above and beyond to make the visit such a success. Here’s to many more trips like this — thank you YSJ, we left feeling inspired! 🌟
