Our iGCSE students have been working incredibly hard this week to consolidate their knowledge of An Inspector Calls. A key focus has been on improving written responses, with students developing their editing skills by paying close attention to SPaG (Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar), clear expression and expanding their ideas in greater detail.

Students have been reflecting carefully on how to strengthen their analytical writing, making thoughtful improvements to ensure their responses are clear, detailed and well supported.

Making the most of the spring sunshine, one lesson was even taken outside to the park benches, providing a refreshing change of scenery and a calm environment for learning. It was fantastic to see students remaining so focused and engaged while enjoying the outdoors.

Meanwhile, our Functional Skills class has continued exploring their exciting project, What Is a Story? This week, students focused on character traits, character development and character arcs, discussing what makes characters interesting and how they can change throughout a story. Learners shared thoughtful ideas and explored how characters’ experiences and decisions shape narratives.

It has been another brilliant week of creativity, discussion and skill development in English, and we are incredibly proud of the focus and effort shown by all students. 🌟
