This week, students enjoyed a fantastic afternoon visit to Murton Park, making the most of the sunshine and the wide range of activities on offer.
The afternoon began with a visit to the farm animals, where students had the opportunity to observe a variety of animals up close and learn more about how they are cared for. Pupils enjoyed exploring the different enclosures, reading information about the animals, and discussing their observations with one another.
We then spent time in the farming museum, discovering what life was like for farming families in the past. Students explored displays of traditional farming equipment, household items and historical artefacts, gaining an insight into how farming and daily life have changed over the years.
With the weather on our side, we were able to spend plenty of time outdoors enjoying the open spaces around the park. Students organised games of hide and seek, explored the grounds and even found time to climb aboard some of the historic farming machinery. The afternoon was filled with laughter, teamwork and plenty of opportunities to socialise and build friendships.
Visits such as these provide valuable opportunities for students to develop confidence, independence and communication skills while learning outside of the classroom. It was wonderful to see everyone engaging so positively with the activities and making the most of the experience.
We all had a fantastic afternoon and are already looking forward to our next adventure!
