Firework Art at the Farm

This week at the farm, pupils created their own firework displays on paper. They used black paper as a night sky and experimented with different ways to capture the bursts, trails and sparkle of fireworks.
Trying different ways to paint a firework
Pupils used brushes to paint lines radiating from the centre of a burst. They also tried blowing paint through straws to see how it spread into branching trails. Small drops of paint made scattered sparks, while glitter added a shimmer against the black background.
The finished displays
Some pupils went for big bursts of colour, while others made swirls or dotted little sparks around their designs. Side by side, the pictures show how many different effects pupils created with the same simple materials.
